For the past 40 years, the Chi Omega Sorority at Texas A&M University has hosted the largest Greek-sponsored philanthropic event on campus, SONGFEST- a variety show and production featuring multiple student organizations. Each year’s production is completely unique, with participating groups showcasing their talents through music, dance, and skit performances in a two-night event in November.
The mission of Songfest is to unite thousands of Aggies for a common goal of selfless service and enrichment in the community. In 2018, we sold out Rudder Auditorium with over 7,000 people in attendance. In total, Songfest 2018 raised $189,715. The money raised through Songfest is used to change the lives of individuals all over the world by donating to Chi Omega’s national and local philanthropies, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and Still Creek Girls Ranch as well as each of the 28 participating organizations’ represented philanthropies. In 2018, Songfest was able to donate over $148,480 to philanthropies due to the hard work and support of the student body of Texas A&M University. Songfest is truly a testament to the amazing impact the Aggie Family can have on the lives of those in need when united for a common purpose. Chi Omega truly would not be able to put on Songfest if it was not for the hardworking organizations who put in countless hours to make the production a success.
