When I started the whole sorority recruitment process, everyone told me to go through with an open mind.  This was great advice.  Of course, I had my favorites.  The day before pref, I went to three parties that stood out to me and loved girls at each house for different reasons.  I told my mom I was feeling very overwhelmed and confused because I could see myself at each house.  She told me to pray that God would open the right door for me so I could be at peace about my decision.  Well, that is exactly what God did!!! I was cut from those two houses that I loved which was an answered prayer to be shown where I was intended to be.  By doing this, He  showed me that Chi Omega was the sorority for me.  I was so thrilled!

I loved Bid Day and meeting my pledge sisters.  I thought I would instantly plug in and have several new friends to hang out with; however, new membership along with adjusting to college life was somewhat overwhelming.  Being a Chi O new member did make me step out of my comfort zone though and the more functions I attended, the more wonderful sisters I met.

Whenever I felt like I was reaching a low point school wise, the perfect Chi O came along to help me deal with that particular situation. It was truly amazing. Each and every girl that I have met so far has shown me acceptance and love and surrounding myself with these genuine and kind ladies has been a blessing.

After the newness started wearing off I began to see friendships arise. By being a part of our philanthropy event, Songfest, really made my semester and opened doors to friendships I know will be everlasting. I feel so blessed to be a part of Chi Omega and hope that in the years to come, I can give to the chapter just as they have all given to me.
