To the girls who taught me how to love life and everything about it…

I think it’s safe to say that the transition from high school to college is a stressful, yet rewarding experience. You pack up your stuff, move away from home, and end up at this thing they call college—AKA “the best four years of your life.”

The week before my freshman year began, I went through the long and emotional process of recruitment, joined Chi Omega, and never looked back. I’d like to think I joined a sorority expecting to make friends, but I ended up with something so, so much greater: family. Chi O has become my second family-- my home away from home. Chi O has given me the sisters I never had and the most killer group of friends a girl could ever ask for.

I am so very blessed to not only have each of you in my life but also living life with me. The past year and a half getting to know different people in Chi O has been absolutely incredible, and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. I am so thankful to have a group of girls who understand who I am and who I want to be. Friends that accept my flaws and help strengthen my weaknesses. When I’m stressed out or just want company, they’re there. No questions asked. These girls have taught me to not only forget about the past and hope for the future but to live in the present.

So, thank you Chi O!!! The friendships formed through Chi Omega have shown me what it’s like to love others like Jesus does by giving me friends who continually shower me with love while I’m still learning how to love myself. Friends who consistently keep me grounded and challenge me to be the best person I can be.

I am so thankful for the support, laughs, dance parties, froyo trips, late night talks, and everything else, tears included. Each one of y’all is so special, and I hope someday I can touch your life as much as you’ve touched mine.

Looking back, I’ve realized that so far college has been “the best,” but being a part of Chi O is what’s made it ten times better. And I think the most exciting part about it is that it’s not over yet!!!
