Chi Omega has truly given me so much to be thankful for. I went into recruitment week at the beginning of my freshman year without really knowing what to expect. I figured that a sorority would just be a great chance for me to make friends, but it has been so much more than that for me. I have met some of the most amazing, caring, and genuine people over the past few years. The girls in this organization truly accept me for who I am even with all of my flaws, and they encourage me to be better every single day.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the Silent Auction chairs last year for Songfest, and I loved the experience. It was a ton of work, but seeing the auction’s success made it all worth it. I’m thankful to have had such a creative and fun-loving partner who could deal with my spam texting and crazy schedule. The leadership skills I learned through this experience will be so important for my life after college, and I would have never received this opportunity had I not been in Chi O.
I have also loved getting to share the bond of Chi Omega with my mom. When I found out that I was a Chi O on bid day, we were both so excited! My mom has always told me how Chi O changed her and formed her into the woman she is today. I can only hope that I will be so lucky and that I become more like her every day. I feel like we have become closer throughout my time in college even though we are apart for a good portion of the year. I have learned to always make the best of the moments we have together. I am lucky to get to share something so special with my mom!
The girls in Chi Omega have been there for me through all of the breakups, bad grades, major changes, and even more. Throughout my time here, I have felt so incredibly loved and supported, and it has made my college experience truly unforgettable. Thank you Chi Omega for giving me so much to be appreciative of!
